Creative Direction of a Black Swan inspired wedding shoot, including styling of models, venue and table as well as photography direction.
Inspired by the juxtaposition of the Black Swan, this theatrical shoot sees two brides celebrate their wedding day in the expansive surroundings of a renovated barn in Wales.
Each bride has their own distinctive style, with couture creations, elegant jewellery and bouquets complimenting each other perfectly. The softer, more whimsical white swan wears a deconstructed plaited up do to flatter her feather-inspired gown, while the passionate black swan chooses a more polished up do for her floral black masterpiece with its hundred metres of tulle. Dramatic feather-inspired eye makeup and matching berry lips look beautiful on fresh faces with natural lashes and soft brows.
I wanted to create something polished, but theatrical; simple, yet opulent, contrasting the gothic table decoration with minimalistic stationary and gorgeously bright floral arrangements. The vibrant, exotic touches throughout the displays were brought to life with the natural light flooding through the magnificent windows of the venue.
The metres of tulle used for the backdrop and in the gowns pays homage to the underlying inspiration of the iconic ballet, softening the brick work and polished concrete floor of the barn setting.
